The Card Shack

Those of you who are familiar with this popular joint of the Atlantech Universe, know that Morane owns it, and Maxwell Graham is the manager and card dealer and organizer of all poker games. Victoria Thompson is an assistant manager and sometimes joins the games.

All the poker games are rigged, Maxwell and Vicky always have one player at the table who is supposed to win, and Maxwell always sees to it that he gets the winning hand.

So unless you're as smart and sneaky as Justin Church, you don't stand a chance.

The bar in the Card Shack is nice little setup down the hall from the Game room, and the bartender is Enrique Alveras. The counter top isn't very long so seating is limited to only seven.

However there are always the booths, there are a total of 24, 12 on each side. All booths are open except for table 7, that has become the main hangout for Justin Church, William Sterling, Stan Winston and Brian Smith. good luck trying to steal their spot. Even if they aren't all there, there's always one, usually Stan or Justin, saving the seats for the others.

Justin might compromise, but Stan means business.


The rules of the Card Shack as Maxwell states are simple

Rule 1. No free drinks, if you're caught you get kicked out.

Rule 2. Stay out of the Game room unless there's a game in session and you have permission to enter.

Rule 3. If you lose your money, don't cry to Maxwell, cry to your mother.

Rule 4. No fights, as Victoria says. "If you want to act like big tough men, do it outside, aint no room for scraps in here".

Rule 5. If you get drunk, don't complain it's your own fault.

Rule 6. Victoria says "My Dressing room is off limits, anybody dare to enter, you'll be walking away with a bullet in your ass".

Rule 7. When there's a game in session, no cheering it disrupts the other players.

Rule 8. No card counting, if Maxwell catches you, you'll be kicked out.

Rule 9. No guns allowed in The Card Shack. Maxwell says "We don't need pompous idiots shooting up the joint".

Rule 10. No harassment towards Enrique, Maxwell, Vicky or any of their special guests.

Wardrobe requirements.
Remember in Atlantis City has a
jazz aged theme so any outfits from
the 20's an 30's are acceptable.

You can either be an AMF soldier with the standard grey uniform with maroon colored trim.

Keep in mind, Maxwell doesn't take too kindly to soldiers or anyone in the AMF.

You can be a rich snob with a fancy suit and the typical slick back appearance.

Or a middle class citizen with a regular button down shirt and slacks or pants. Hats are optional but are to be removed when in the game room.

The time is 8:09, Maxwell has opened the doors to let everyone in.
Enrique is cleaning the rest of the glasses and preparing drinks. Tonight's choices are
Atlantis City's fine wine, Atlantis Whiskey or Morane's cheap liquor.

Victoria has backup drinks hidden in the back, moonshine she made herself, but Enrique will only sell it when Maxwell is not around.

Justin church has arrived and is seated at table 7 waiting for the others, while taking time to ogle any dames that happen to pass by.

Maxwell is guarding the game room like a hawk, and Victoria is chatting with Enrique.

Justin fiddles with his shot glass while listening to the swing band jazz playing through the speakers.

Time is now 8:30


The others have arrived at table 7, and Enrique is bringing over a tray full of drinks.

Maxwell is still watching the game room, while enjoying a nice cigar.

Victoria is sitting at the bar, drinking a martini.

*Enrique sets the tray down on the booth table*

William Sterling: We didn't order these *scratches chin*

Justin Church: *grins* I did, drinks are on me tonight guys

Brian Smith: *stares at the drinks then glances over at Justin* No thanks

Stan Winston: Sorry, I don't drink. Your generosity is appreciated though.

Justin Church: Well then fine, more for me anyways

William Sterling: You're too young to drink that entire tray by yourself

Justin Church: *smirks* So does that mean you're going to join me?

William Sterling: *looking confused* Sure, it couldn't hurt I suppose.

Justin Church: *picks up glass* Well since it's just William and I how about a little race?

*Brian and Stan exchange looks*

William Sterling: Now you're just getting ahead of yourself.

Justin Church: Come on Billy boy! What? You don't think you can beat me?

Brian Smith:

Stan Winston:

Justin Church: *raises glass* Come on William, on your mark..........

William Sterling: *sighs and picks up a glass* Get set..................

GO!

*William and Justin down the first shot at the same time*

Brian Smith: *looking amused* It was a tie

Stan Winston: An exact tie.

*William and Justin glare at one another*

Justin Church: Another round? *picks up another glass*

William Sterling: *grabs another too* Sure, buddy

GO!

*William downs his a second right before Justin*

Stan Winston: William won that time

Justin Church: *looking annoyed* Are you sure? Or are you just saying that because he's your buddy?

Brian Smith: I saw it too, he beat you by a mere second

William Sterling: Come on Justin, don't be a sore loser now *smirks*

*Maxwell gets tired of the yelling and heads over to shut them up*

Maxwell Graham: Either quiet down, or get the hell out!

Justin church: We were just having fun, that's all. Where's the harm in that?

Maxwell Graham: If it weren't for Miss Thompson being my assistant manager, I'd have you soldiers banned from this establishment!

William Sterling: Same old stick up the ass I can see, eh Maxwell?

Brian Smith:

Justin Church:

Maxwell: You think you're so funny, don't you? *storms off*

Justin church: You sure showed that limey!

William Sterling: Just doing what I can!

The time is now 9:00 PM
