lego SDF-1 in progress

one of the first things i thought to myself when i saw the SDF-1 was "i want to make that out of Lego". unfortunately since i dont have access to my Legos i have decided to try it in Lego Digital designer.

I'm starting with the bow/cannon

Is it gonna be able to transform?

unfortunately no, the software feels really clumsy so i didn't bother trying to make it transform. i probably would have been able to if i could do this hands-on

Looks like you are off to a good start Mage!! and i can relate to the software since somebody sent me the site info and well i might have been tinkering with it too

well i got the bow/cannon mostly finished, I'll go back for detailing

got a little more done today. i have 2/3 of the length put together. it stops now at the waist area. now i gotta figure out how to put the main engines on it

Looking like a good match to the actual SDF-1 mage!!! How did you get the plain white background though? i cant seem to get rid off the "desert looking background"

Um... I think the forward prongs are supposed to be rolled over upside down, so the slant is going from the bottom rear to top forward. Other than that, it looks good. I can't wait to see the finished images.

once i get the whole thing roughly put together I'll work on the details, i never get it right the first time anyways.

there's a screenshot feature available in the menu

posting a little more progress today. i feel like a lazy bum if i don't keep things updated.

tail section is coming along nicely there mage!!
I have been working on some Lego stuff meself lol something i think viper would get a kick out of

in real life this would be smaller then some of my other creations but this is the largest thing I've made using this software

yeah after using the program for a bit i can see how that your build is of a larger scale. The Tomahawk I'm building is just a little smaller than the size of your SDF-1 and will be able to have limited range of posing....but will be able to pose none the less .

well crap. i think i messed up the legs. i have to go all the way back to the waist and restart now
